Long-term tooth preservation - thanks to regular check-ups.

Thorough dental examination is one of the important preventive measures. Teeth, gums, oral cavity - our dentists examine diligently and empathetically.

Check-up

Regular inspections ensure
long-term tooth preservation.

Healthy teeth, healthy mouth - dental examination is an important preventive measure. Just like with any other diseases, early detection ensures maximum treatment success for cavities and periodontitis. We take our time to inspect the oral cavity. The entire oral cavity is examined, including cavities, inflammations, gum recession, tooth wear, oral mucosa, temporomandibular joints, dental prosthetics, etc. Many diseases or inconsistencies can be detected during this clinical diagnosis. In some cases, technical aids complement the examination.

We visualize tooth defects with a digital dental camera.

Probe and mirror are the classic instruments for a check-up at the dentist. To make tooth defects visible, we also utilize modern technologies. With an intraoral camera, we capture the oral situation including the teeth and create high-resolution images. In an enlarged display, we can jointly examine your teeth on a screen and explain any issues comprehensibly. It is important not to confuse the miniature camera with the intraoral scanner, which generates 3D images of your oral situation.

Feeling the tooth with digital X-rays - reduced radiation.

Digital X-rays at the dentist quickly generate detailed images. In our dental practice in Zug, we use modern digital X-ray techniques. Significantly reduced radiation dose and high-resolution images - digital X-rays are the contemporary way for reliable diagnosis. The X-ray images are immediately available on the monitor in the treatment room and can be discussed with you. After analysis, the X-ray images are stored and securely archived.

Advantages of digital X-rays at TEAM 15:

  • Reduced radiation dose
  • Detailed images for reliable diagnosis
  • Quick availability of images in the treatment room
  • Environmentally friendly as no chemicals are used for X-ray image development
  • Permanent archiving of digital X-ray images
  • Matching of images with the 4D diagnostic model

Tooth wear should be observed.

During regular tooth check-up, tooth wear is also observed. In general, wear is unavoidable throughout life as teeth perform at their maximum capacity every day. Tooth enamel is the hardest substance in the body. With advancing age, the enamel (outer shell) may become slightly thinner. The yellowish dentin (tooth dentin) shines through the transparent enamel, which is why teeth darken slightly with age. Treatment for such moderate wear is usually not necessary.

What is pathological tooth wear?

There are also pathological wear patterns (abrasion) where an excessive amount of tooth structure is lost. The teeth become shorter and more sensitive. Additionally, there may be a change or shift in the bite, which can accompany the wear of the affected teeth and a positional change of the temporomandibular joints. Such significant loss of tooth structure should be treated. We can help you and optimally restore your teeth aesthetically and functionally.

What causes significant tooth wear?

In general, two causes can be distinguished:

  • Mechanical wear, e.g., due to malfunctions (such as stress)
  • Wear caused by chemical influences, e.g., acid (diet)

Besides dental caries, wear is considered the main cause of tooth substance loss. It is often referred to as a civilization disease, exacerbated by stress, improper diet, etc. In our dental practice in Zug, we expertly recognize pathological tooth wear, take timely action, and provide you with individual therapy and prevention recommendations.
